wolfgang.stief (Sat, 20 Nov 2021 17:58:06 GMT):
I just watched the keynote on pandemics in preparation for tomorrows conference. Towards the end, Dr. Stavros Malas mentioned a talk by some former EU commissioner about to come back to more manual work and less machine work. Either I didn't get the name of this person or Mr. Malas even didn't mention a name. Does somebody of you have a pointer to either the name of this person or maybe even the talk, Mr. Malas mentioned?

kristin.eissfeldt (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 14:38:39 GMT):
Hi Wolfgang, I didn`t get a name either, as I understood he didn`t mention one. Our Chat Moderator Patrick could take this question into the panel later

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 14:46:12 GMT):
Thx @wolfgang.stief and @kristin.eissfeldt! Good idea! I'm gonna take that question into the panel later.

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 14:49:36 GMT):

Mark Damon Harvey does also have experience in Permaculture

sabine.born-hofmann (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:38:20 GMT):
Gitta, in this context of the need of handling complexity: are there ideas of introducing FORMWELT to teenagers/schools especially in Germany?

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:39:58 GMT):
Thx for the question, @sabine.born-hofmann

andreas.schwietzke (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:41:19 GMT):
Personally, I also see illness as an opportunity for development or attitude towards one's own life. When I got cancer at the age of 25, the fight against this disease was of course important at first, but the influence on my further life, i.e. my inner attitude towards life, was much more influential and important for the rest of my life. What I want to express with this is, shouldn't personal crises as well as meta-crises also be seen as opportunities? Or in other words, without crises, deficits, changes, attitudes etc. are not noticed. Are crises then not even necessary for the further development of a society? In this sense, can crises be seen as a positive stimulus that, if possible, leads to new thinking?

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:43:14 GMT):
Thx, @andreas.schwietzke for the question. I'm gonna take it to the panelists

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:47:26 GMT):

kristin.eissfeldt (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:49:40 GMT):
of course you also can stay in the chat and continue exchange here

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:50:54 GMT):
Thx @kristin.eissfeldt !

kathleen.engel (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:52:49 GMT):
My thought questions on this: How can the awareness be opened that this is a metacrisis/pandemic that affects not only us here in Germany, but worldwide...? In nursing and other social areas working are m.E.N. not or only conditionally in a position to connect many facts that affect their work and accordingly capable of action. In addition, personal attitudes to Covid make this more difficult. What is needed is a contact point to answer questions of those working in care, to deal with them and to accompany them. kristin.eissfeldt (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:56:34 GMT):
@wolfgang.stief as Stavros Malas could not be with us today, we keep your question in mind and ask him about the study later

wolfgang.stief (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:57:25 GMT):
@kristin.eissfeldt Thank you!

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:58:00 GMT):

wolfgang.stief (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:00:00 GMT):

kathleen.engel (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:04:17 GMT):
Kannst Du meine Frage mitnehmen? Das wäre toll. Danke!

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:04:42 GMT):
Dear participants, was something not mentioned or did you discover a blind spot that we should definitely shine a light on?

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:07:59 GMT):
Thx @kathleen.engel ! I'm gonna take the question to the breakout session

gerhard.berthold (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:08:01 GMT):
Cannot enter the room - it says planned for thursday :)

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:08:33 GMT):
Let me fix this ...

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:09:01 GMT):
Here we go:

kathleen.engel (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:10:00 GMT):
I live in Germany and I think far too many people living here don't realize that a pandemic, metacrisis is about more than their own little here in Germany lives. How can this "small" awareness be expanded, strengthened for everyone in the world? It starts with refugees, and does not end with Covid!

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:11:27 GMT):
That's an important question! What do you think? Where should we start?

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:17:19 GMT):
Dear participants, we're closing now the moderation of the chat. If you would like to join the breakout session with the panelist please klick on this link:

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:17:49 GMT):
Have a good evening and an inspiring start tomorrow morning!

kathleen.engel (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:18:19 GMT):
I really don't know. I feel like I'm between two stools. My employers are vaccination refuseniks, many of my colleagues "hangers-on. I keep coming back to the point of creating drop-in centers/counseling centers/citizen points that offer help/information and options to those who want them too! Those who are insecure, get "tangled up" in the social networks and polarize without realizing it themselves.

BürgerPunkte schaffen - außerhalb von sozial Media

Creating CitizenPoints - outside of social media

patrick.kappeler (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:20:54 GMT):
Good point! How could we make them trustworthy for citizens?

kathleen.engel (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:34:23 GMT):
Perhaps in which one connects several important topics of the time, refugees, neighborhood help, metacrises - in the sense of Covid, unconditional basic income (here Hartz4 recipients who try to become independent) - complexity management - ecology, nature conservation, climate etc. I'm sure that gives out there, the people! They need only a starting point, as I also! Trustworthiness? hmpf - whether there independent is enough? Means: independent from state and politics? kathleen.engel (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 16:37:50 GMT):
Politics and government are too slow to achieve results in a timely manner! We have to find ways to reach the people who still want to and can think/act. I work mainly with older people, I try as best I can to bring in my view, sometimes it works, often not. :( But that is another field in which one can still try something.

kristin.eissfeldt (Sun, 21 Nov 2021 17:34:11 GMT):
